Questions You Should Ask
If you are looking to find the best digital marketing company for your business, you should consider the following questions.
How transparent is their pricing model?
Is their pricing model readily available, and are they able to explain how their pricing works? Are there any “hidden costs” such as mark ups on Google ad spend? A great agency will be able to break down their costs for you and many will even allow you to be directly billed by the advertising platform (AdWords, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) so that billing is completely transparent.
How large is the digital agency? Is it one person who is a Jack-of-all-trades, or a team of experts in a variety of fields?
Web designers are great at designing websites, but are not always great at Analytics. Digital marketers are skilling in analyzing data and making informed campaign optimizations, but are not as skilled in developing compelling websites and landing pages. For this reason, you should ideally have a team of digital marketing and web experts collaborating on your campaign in order to get the best ROI.
How involved is the agency in the community?
Great agencies typically spend time involved in corporate social responsibility. It’s a key indication that they value their reputation, are proud members of their community, and are here to stay.
Is the team capable of simultaneously thinking on both high and micro levels?
A high-level mindset ensures that the campaign will head in the right direction, while micro-considerations keep everything on track and ensure that the campaign achieves its goals.
Are they fully certified in Google’s paid advertising platforms and Google Analytics?
It is critical to use a fully badged Google-certified partner to provide digital marketing services. They are trained in all of Google’s offerings and know how to best interpret and utilize incoming data.
What services does my company need help with? Do we need a strategy, implementation, or both?
Many digital marketing agencies are happy to build you a strategy around a specific service, but won’t roll up their sleeves to help you execute it. Some companies may only provide specific services, or are only able to execute certain parts of the strategy. It is important to know what your needs are and if a company can fulfill them.
